Yesterday, 15 May 2016, while crowds were supporting the RSPCA WA Million Paws Walk volunteers handed out fliers asking “Why Love One But Eat The Other?”
Videos from the day posted on social media have reached over 12 thousand people within 24 hours.
An air ad was flown over the Swan River from 10am to 12pm to encourage “dog lovers” to go to www.rspcadogs.com to watch a 4 minute video. The video footage shows standard practices and conditions in factory farms and abattoirs in Australia.
As human beings we pride ourselves on certain core values: compassion, love, kindness, honesty and morality. Cruelty, in any form, is considered to be morally wrong. The event was to highlight the cognitive dissonance of loving and protecting our pets while exploiting and torturing those animals people consider ‘food’.
